MJM Planning Making the Planning System Work for You Advice, Appraisals, Applications, Appeals and more Lawful Development Certificate for the Reuse of a Dwelling in the Open Countryside, North Yorkshire MJM Planning was appointed by a major landowner/developer to advise on and submit a Lawful Development Certificate to resume the residential use of a rural dwellinghouse which had not been occupied for nearly a decade and where the client was concerned that the local planning authority might consider the use to have been abandoned. Mick complied all the evidence necessary to convince the local council that the residential use had not been abandoned and that the dwelling could be occupied again without the need for planning permission (which would have limited its occupation to just farm workers). A Lawful Development Certificate was issued enabling unfettered occupation of the house and its successful sale on the open market.
