As
a sole practitioner, Mick McLoughlin provides all clients with a
senior level of planning expertise from his 20
years extensive experience of town planning in the UK and Overseas.
His
professional qualifications are all first-rate (see Mick's CV in
pdf format) and since his election as a corporate member of the
Royal Town Planning
Institute (RTPI) in 1988 he has practised as a Chartered Town Planner,
maintaining this status through continuous professional development
training.
He has considerable knowledge
of planning law, procedures and practice as well as a deep understanding
of the processes
which affect property development and decisions on planning matters.
Mick is certified as an expert facilitator in planning matters by
the Government’s national Advisory Team for Large Applications (ATLAS).
His career has included several senior technical
and managerial positions within local government together with experience
as an expert planning adviser within private industry.
Mick is a member of the Planning
Cooperative and the Rural
Development Network. He has also been a
Director of Planning Aid, responsible for advising and
training
community
groups
and others on planning
matters and he is committed to helping people to better access and
influence the planning system through supporting initiatives such
as the Campaign
for Planning Sanity.
Several Universities and training organisations
have employed him to teach planning law and aspects of planning practice.
He currently guest lectures at Bishop
Burton College and Leeds Met
